Hi. My name is Matthew Botsford. I have 2 books of a 7 book series successfully published. Yea you might say. And I do say 'yea' too. Here's the different part. I live in here Georgia and I'm published in Pescara, Italy by Destiny Image, Europe. This has made the marketing of a Christian Fiction read for kids and young teens a difficult sell to the stringent U.K. markets. Religion straight out the bible is tough over there much less a scifi fantasy read that makes no mistake or excuse for naming the name of Jesus, God, Prayer, etc. through out its intergalactic otherwordly missions that the main character, Johnny Rocket embarks upon all the while seeking to 'save the world' as only a young boy could imagine. It has male and female characters so it is not an action /adventure series aimed soleyt for boys however it does teach biblically based moral realities inside of all the espionage, trickery, deceit and other chall;enges that are encountered from the various planets civilizations. As one commentator has said, "a childs imagination is a wonderful place to explore God." What I need is advice on getting the storys out to the kids in a better way than I see it happening. Please check out one of my webblogs for more insight. http://www.matthewbotsford.blogspot.com It presently is available on Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com, and of course destinyimage.com, the US based division of eurodestinyimage.com.
Thanks for the insights,
blessings to you today,
Matthew B. |

Hey, Matthew!
Welcome to the Heart Chocolate board and congrats on your books! I think it's awesome that you "make no mistake or excuse for naming the name of Jesus."
As for advice on getting the word out about your books, I can suggest two things. One is to check out Bryan Davis~ he writes sci-fi for youth and does a huge amount of speaking in the school systems which has been a very successful ministry of the heart for him.
My other suggestion is getting involved with local Christian authors and/or a national writer's group. That's where I've learned so much about writing, faith, and the whole world of publishing. Plus, I've made some incredible friends! The group I'm most passionate about is ACFW~ American Christian Fiction Writers. If you'd like to learn more about a local ACFW group in Georgia, please email and I can fill you in.
Abundant blessings!
